Also known as bonded or composite fillings, these are an alternative to silver amalgum (50% mercury-50% silver and other metals) filling material. Research and observation finds that amalgum filling material can weaken the tooth and often cause cracks or fractures.

Modern dentistry has increasingly turned to composite fillings as a strong, safe and more natural looking alternative. White fillings bond to the tooth and help to strengthen while beautifying.
